Heron Bay is perfect, just perfect, we travel with our elderly Mum who has dementia and loves Scotland. The Heron Bay lodges suit our needs and mum finds them familiar so settles in nicely. The location makes it easy to have nice days out but when you get home to the lodge the peace surrounds you while you watch the boats and the wildlife go by.

Be prepared to relax, unwind and enjoy a fantastic location.

Le chalet est très bien équipé, bien chauffé, propre et l'échange avec Sharyn est très facile. Je recommande

N'hésitez pas à juste profiter de la belle terrasse avec un livre au soleil (j'ai découvert que c'était possible en Ecosse!), la vue y est magnifique. Si finalement il pleut le canapé derrière les grandes baies vitrées vous accueillera avec un thé! Sharyn est pleine d'attention, elle laisse à disposition du café, thé et autres petites gourmandises pour votre arrivée. Les chambres sont très spacieuses et les salles de bains très bien équipées. Le seul bémol serait la proximité de la route qu'on entend légèrement.

Fantastic view, very comfortable and cosy cottage, well equipped kitchen, excellent bed- & bathrooms. We really enjoyed our stay here. Fort William is only a 15 minutes drive and there you find everything you need and more.

The daywalk to the top of Ben Nevis and back, and the journey in the Jacobite steam train to Mallaig and back were some of the highlights that we will remember from this holiday!

Beautiful location with stunning views. Sharyn and her husband are great hosts and any requests for extra supplies that we needed were dealt with very quickly (they live next door to the lodges). Kitchen was well equipped, there are 2 good sized bedrooms and 2 large bathrooms with amazing showers. Would highly recommend. Lovely, peaceful location.

The Otter Bank offered amazing views, which me and my family thoroughly enjoyed. The property itself was beautiful with the open plan layout, modern bathrooms, fireplace and facilities. The owners were very helpful and were on hand to answer any queries we had throughout the stay. Sharyn also recommended some good local butchers beforehand who were amazing! This was the first time my parents had ventured to the highlands and the Otter Bank made their experience even more magical. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the property and look forward to our next stay there!

If you’re planning to explore the local attractions be sure to check if they are closed due to being out of season. If it is out of season do not be put off, there are still plenty of amazing drives, walks and experiences to make in this amazing place.

Just had another week at the lovely Heron Bay lodges with my son. A really great base for getting out and about in Fort William area. The lodges are spotless, spacious and very well equipped. The views across the loch never disappoint. We will be back.

The Highland Cinema cafe does a fab gluten free pizza! And a great little cinema too.

I was pleased with the very good equipment of the apartment, it includes all the details for a wonderful vacation. The views from the terrace are incredible. If I go back to Fort William, I hope to book this apartment again.

Good access from highway to Fort William. Two spacious bedrooms with full bathrooms. Clean, complete equipment with all the details (detergents for washing machine and dishwasher, tea, coffee, pasta, oil, sugar, salt,...).

A lovely location, just outside of Fort William so you have the benefit of being out of the bustle but with access to all the facilities. The Loch side location is perfect allowing you to sit in comfort on the spacious deck to take in the glorious surroundings or take the very short walk down to the water. The accommodation was really spacious with both rooms almost having a 'wing' each with enormous bathrooms and walk in wardrobes absolutely perfect for two couples. We were unfortunate with the weather so having such a comfortable lodge made it so much better. I would fully recommend this lodge and hope to return.

The lodge is a perfect base to visit the whole area, you can get to Fort William in 10 minutes but you also have Ballachulish / Glen Coe to the south. You wont need to 'over pack' as there are great laundry facilities at the lodge. We noticed that there are some places in the area where the lodges are quite tightly packed in but the two at Heron Bay are really well spaced and staggered in such a way we had all the privacy you could want. We stayed at Heron Bay 4 days but wish we had been there longer and will be back.

We are just back from a 2 night stay at Heron Bay Cabins. Wow the view is amazing. The cabins were just what we needed, warm, cosy, spacious and private. Walking during the day and relaxing at night. We really did enjoy our stay. A big thank you to Sharyn.

The location ,views and lodge could not have been better , would recommend to couples or family the sunset from the lodge across the loch has to be the best in the Fort William area by a long way .

Booked last minute and direct with Sharyn who was very helpful over the phone. Quick and easy to make the booking.

The lodge is just a few minutes drive into Fort William with many outdoor shops. A variety of walks in the local area and close to Ben Nevis mountain range. We did a lot of walking during our stay including Dun Deardail which offers fantastic views of Ben Nevis. Another must is Steall Falls, a lovely walk up to the waterfall.

Absolutly beautifull accomodation. We had an amazing time with our kids. Its great spot to sighseeing,everything is close. The beds are really comfy. There is an access to the lake with a stunning view. I was really sad leaving the place. Will definatly come back.

Would visit Mallaig on Jacobite steam railway. West Highland museum has superb collections on Jacobites. Glenfinnan and Glencoe are also worth a visit. Would recommend seafood restaurants for eating out.

Amazing lodges in the most beautiful location. The views of the loch are really something. The lodges have everything you’d need for a self catered break.

Some great skiing in both the Nevis range (20 mins away) and Glencoe (40 mins away). Uplift gets shut if it’s too windy but if you get lucky there’s some really fun skiing! Also top tip - 3 wise monkeys climbing centre in fort William - in a converted old church. Really fun bouldering walls and great cafe (waffles were off the hook!). Staff lovely! We took our kids (7 and 8) and they loved it.

Thank you, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the lodge was fantastic and you had thought of everything! we really appreciated the fans in the bedrooms as it was hot when we stayed. Wonderful location, the children loved skimming stones down on the loch and was so convenient to get to Ben Nevis and walking areas.

Perfect place to stay if climbing Ben Nevis - would love to come back in winter to experience skiing and using the wood burning stove - it was too hot when we stayed!!

Excellent and very well equipped lodge. The only 2 things I would change would be the weather - completely outside everyone's control - and that my preference is always to have somewhere where you can walk out straight onto footpaths from the front door so don't need to use the car. Will definitely return - though may be short notice booking dependent on weather forecast!

Very clean, high spec lodge, with amazing view of loch linhe. Every you could need for a self catering holiday was provided and all the amenities were excellent (especially the shower). Would stay again.

For Harry Potter fans a trip to glenfinnan bridge is well worth a visit and the village of Malaig is nice to walk round along with the silvery sands of Morar

Amazing lodge, and so easy!! To just turn up and have the basics there already, was great. We settled in very quickly, and the location is just amazing. The space is great, we were two couples so to have equal size accommodation at either end of the lodge was really good. And the deep baths are amazing for very tired walking legs! So pleased we opted to stay here instead of in Fort William. Thanks Sharyn, sorry to not have met you!

We ate one night at Garrison West in Fort William which was good. It felt smaller and more "current" than a lot of other restaurants that seem rather dated and more geared for tour groups. Two of us walked Ben Nevis - just amazing.

Beautiful location, Heron lodge is amazing,would love it as a home!

Fort William not much to rave about! Lots' of funds need to go into the town, it could be lovely, lots of walkers' resend naturally into the town. What is needed are restaurants, nice shops of interest. we went to the local morrisons and brought food to cook at the lodge. Come on the Scottish Parliament look after your towns of interest!!!!!
